Hello everyone

As some of you may remember, three years ago I completed the 'longest day golf challenge' to raise funds for MacMillan Cancer Support with three friends. This involved playing four rounds of golf in one day, which we all successfully completed with various degrees of skill and ability!

Having decided that this was not difficult enough, and having lost some or all of my wits, I have now decided to try something more challenging, perhaps slightly insane and maybe even impossible! In July this year, I will be attempting to set a world record for the longest time ‘golfed’ without sleep to raise funds for Alzheimer's Scotland. The target has been set at 48 hours, although the record is only 42 hours at present. 

The attempt is going to be on a single course which and fortunately, the score is immaterial.

I have arranged for this to take place at Wick Golf Club (http://www.wickgolfclub.org.uk/ ) and I will be starting at 6am on Thursday 4 July.

Some of you will already know that a member of my family has recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. This person has done so much for me which I will never be able to repay. This incredible challenge is an opportunity for me to show them just how much they mean to me. Hopefully, I can go on to successfully complete this challenge, raise lots of money for Alzheimer's Scotland and let that person know how much their love and support has meant all these years.
