RETRAK aims to offer street children a permanent, locally relevant alternative to life on the streets and to enable them to take their future into their own hands. A team of professionally run social work organizations, the RETRAK projects, work closely together to build and strengthen models of excellence, increase local capacity and speak out for the rights of street children.

Dear Family, Friends, Colleagues and Supporters!

Chris Start (overweight and 50 years old) and Danny Start (underweight and 13 years old)...

SUCCESSFULLY MADE A DAD-LAD ATTEMPT ON THE 20KM OF BRUSSELS IN THE HEAT OF SUNDAY AFTERNOON 25 MAY, 2008!

AS YOU CAN SEE WE RAN TOGETHER AND FINISHED TOGETHER IN JUST UNDER 3 HOURS.  ACTUALLY DANNY OUT-SPRINTED CHRIS OVER THE LAST 50M TO THE FINISH!  IT SEEMS THAT COMPETITIVENESS RUNS DEEP IN THIS FAMILY!

Why did  we do this mad and crazy thing?

For RETRAK.  A wonderful charity organization which has been transforming the lives of street boys in Uganda (with its Tigers Club Project) for more than ten years and which has recently expanded its work with projects in Kenya and Ethiopia.  These Lads have no Dads but you can still encourage them by supporting Chris and Danny.

NEWS!!!  A donor sceptical of our running ability  offered to double whatever we raised  as long we both finished the 20km together. 

AND WE DID IT! 

So every £1 donated by the start of the run on Sunday 25 May is now worth £2!!!  This is included in the "Amount Raised Off-line" quoted below and in the total at the top of the page.
