ATTENTION EVERYONE AFFECTED BY CANCER
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I’ve decided that I’m going to do a charity bike ride. DON’T STOP READING. This isn’t just any charity bike ride around Rutland Water...
At the age of 14, my Granddad’s father moved him and the family away from their home, in KETTERING (Northamptonshire) to ROCHDALE (Google Maps informs me that this is just north of Manchester).
My Grandad wasn’t best pleased with this arrangement, so a few days later, he took his (/someones) bike and rode all the way back to Kettering.
This is the challenge that I have given myself and am going to attempt the journey between 29-31st of July. Factoring in all of the cycle routes available to us it comes to around 150 miles. A long way.
So where do you come into this?
My Grandad sadly passed away in October 2010, after having been assisted by Cransley Hospice who supported the family during the time.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
I will be making this journey to attempt to raise as much money as possible for the above charities. To help me do this I ask only that you dig deep and spare a few pounds for the cause. For anybody who has ever been affected by cancer, a sufferer, a carer, a sibling, parent, uncle, aunt or grandparent, please give generously so that others like you may have as comfortable journey as possible, it might be you before you even know it – I can assure you, “it’s a kick in the teeth” is an understatement.
If you’d like to support this in any other way by providing any cycling equipment that’s gathering dust and cobwebs in the garage, this would be greatly recieved, as the only bike I have suited me when I was 12, but I’ve grown a bit since then. Similarly, if you’d like to offer your logistical services and pass me lucozade and bananas from the comfort of your car, your time would also be greatly recieved.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Just think, if the students among you part with your pennies, you won’t really be paying for it until you’re earning >£15k.....
