Chris was an amazing man, with a huge heart.  Even when he was riddled with cancer and struggling with his own mobility he would still seek to help other people.  On his last evening with us he was thanking friends and family who helped him and apologising for putting them out, even though he was so close to death. 

Tragically, his death was avoidable.  Bowel cancer is completely treatable if discovered in time.  Beating Bowel Cancer is dedicated to raising awareness of the symptoms of bowel cancer and to promoting early diagnosis.  If Chris had known about the symptoms and had been properly diagnosed, he would still have been with us today.

Chris was desperate to do anything he could to prevent other families going through the agony his own was going through.  I know that he would therefore be very honoured to be continuing to raise money for Beating Bowel Cancer and very grateful to his friends, work colleagues, sailing pals and other parents for donating in his memory.

Please help me to make sure that the world is not deprived of any more wonderful people like Chris.
