Story
Chris has completed the Kenilworth half marathon (13.1 miles) in aid of Cystic Fibrosis on Oct 10th. It was his first attempt at this distance and he is dead chuffed as he did it in 1 hour 45 mins. He could not walk afterwards!!!
He is also very happy with the amount of money he has raised so far for the CF trust, but every bit helps - so keep donating!
Cystic fibrosis is the UK's most common, life threatening, inherited disease. It affects vital organs in the body, especially the lungs and digestive system, clogging them with sticky mucus, which makes it dificult to breath and digest food.
Average life expectancy of someone with CF is 31 years old.
One in 25 of us is a carrier and if both parents are carriers of the faulty gene, there is a one in 4 chance of each pregnancy resulting in a child with CF.
Thanks to huge advances in gene therapy, the means to give a disease free life to the 260 babies born each year with CF is within reach provided necessary funds are available. The CF trust aims to raise the 15 million pounds needed. There is only a further 6.4 million pounds to go. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor him: Cystic Fibrosis Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. Alternatively you can send a cheque to C.Maher, 12 Church St, Barford, WARKS, CV35 8EN. The money will then be forwarded to the CF Trust via this web page. So please sponsor him now! Many thanks for your support.
