BHF - Saints with Heart 10 Walk 2010 · 2 October 2010 ·

Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

This is the 9th year of the Saints with Hearts walk. To date we have raised just over £94,000 and this year we are hoping to break the £100K mark!

I am attempting to walk 17 miles from Wolverton back to Franklins Gardens, the home of Northampton Saints.

So why am I doing this for the Britsh Heart Foundation (BHF)?  Well several reasons really.

1) Just because I can! Thankfully I am still fit and able.

2) My Nephew at just 3 weeks old had a major heart problem. At the age of 16 he had major heart surgery. He is now a strapping 6 foot plus, 26 year old. Somone helped him then, perhaps I can help someone now.

3) At the rugby club there are a few supporters that have had heart attacks.  Just 3 years ago my mate Mark suffered a fatal heart attack whilst addressing parents at his school.

There must be many of us out there that have suddenly felt the impact of a friend or family member suffering a heart attack. They need the help and support of the BHF and by sponsoring me you could go a long way to that goal.

Sad to say that just two days after writing this another of my friends had a heart attack and  passed away on Sept 5th. He had no known heart problems previously.

Just imagine it could be you that needs the help and you don't even know.
