I am taking part in the very first Birmingham Half Marathon on October 26th 2008.

Yes I am aiming to complete 13.1 miles. Although I must confess early on that although my intention was to run the course I have had to admit defeat and I will be walking most of it.

I am aiming to raise £500 for County Air Ambulance as a thank you for being there when we needed them most. In December 2007 my daughter was involved in a serious car accident and in my opinion Air Ambulance played a large part in her making a full recovery.

Next time you fill your car up with fuel and complain about the price please bear in mind the Air Ambulance uses 245 litres of jet fuel every sixty minutes and they fly over 2000 hours every year.
