Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!

I decided that I wanted to do something for my 30th birthday, and jumping out of a plane seemed a good idea at the time! While I'm at it, let's see if I can make some money for a good cause too.

I did a tandem skydive on 1st June 2009 (if you don't believe me then check out the photos at: http://www.lushey.toucansurf.com/skydive ). It was an amazing feeling freefalling for about a mile before the parachute opened and we did some twists and turns on there. Had a great time doing it, but a big thanks to everyone who already has, or is thinking about sponsoring some money to this worthy cause.

My Dad passed away in November 2008 after a turbulent 7 months since he was diagnosed with a brain tumour. My Grandfather passed away in October 2008, also of cancer. Fair Havens Hospice helped my Dad while he was ill, and continued to provide support to my Mother after they had both died. They were a great support and I'd like to help to make sure that they are able to offer the same to other families.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Fair Havens Hospice gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

All the money raised through this site goes directly to Fair Havens - the jump was paid for separately, so I'm not asking you to subsidise an adrenaline rush for me (other people did that as a birthday gift!)

Thanks to everyone who has already donated, on the second day we almost hit the first target of £500, so I changed it up to £1,000. We'd passed £1,500 by the time I did the jump and hadn't counted all of the offline sponsors, so why not see if we can make it to 2 grand!

Thank you for your support,
Chris.
