CHRIS NEWMAN IS RUNNING A MARATHON!
Look out for #421 and cheer him on!
Latest update: Ran the marathon today - it was the race from hell, my feet look like chopped ham now (see picture on the left!) Luckily I have a week off work to recover. I need it...
I am running a marathon on May 17th - the Brathay Windermere Marathon.
Ah well, it's all in a very good cause...
In 2008 my brother in law, Julian (some of you may know him as Muz), was diagnosed with primary bone cancer and ended up having to have his arm amputated as the tumour didn't respond well to the combination of chemo drugs that was used. (It hasn't stopped him doing silly things like mountainbiking and rock climbing and soon to be back on one of his motorbikes too - as you can see on the picture on the left!)
Through research and asking questions it turns out primary bone cancer is incredibly rare and as such attracts just a fraction of the funding that research into more common cancers receives. For that reason, I'd like your donation to go to Bone Cancer Research Trust so that hopefully in the future people being diagnosed will get better treatments, better outcomes and a better quality of life. Please take a look at their website for more information: http://www.bonecancerresearch.org.uk/
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Bone Cancer Research Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
