Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Dear Friends,

I want to ask for your support. Many of you know me as the face of EnlightenNext in the emails you receive from me as Director of EnlightenNext in the UK. In those emails I often like to share something which I find interesting or inspiring as I imagine that you may feel likewise (and hopefully you will read the emails too!)

I am going to be meditating for 24 hours at the EnlightenNext centre in London and I’m asking for your support by sponsoring me to do this meditation marathon for charity.

Yes, it's an unusual challenge but it's one which is personally close to my heart, since meditation has been so valuable to my own life and quite likely it is to many of you too.

So why not help change conventional values (Sponsor someone to do absolutely nothing or twiddle their thumbs?!! Give me a break!) and place value where we believe value should be placed.

EnlightenNext is a UK charity and we depend on your donations to offer all the programmes that we offer. And all the money raised in this medi-thon (sounds like a kind of medication!) will go towards this work. So it's a good cause and it's beneficial for the participants too.

Meditating for so long makes you go beyond your own limits – either that or otherwise you'd give up!

These days meditation is often thought about as all about stress relief and relaxation, but perennially its deeper purpose has always been about discovering the limitless timeless dimension of oneself beyond the mind.

The moment that I first discovered true meditation is still vividly immediate to me. I'd been meditating for quite a few years but somewhere inside I knew that in spite of what I had learned about my mind, which was very helpful, that in the words of Bono - 'I still hadn't found what I was looking for'.

Then I discovered and tasted the extraordinary dimension that is deep meditation, which is an absolute dropping of everything, and a discovery of the boundary-less nature of the ground of being, which had always been present. That's when I knew beyond any doubt or concept, the importance of meditation as the foundation for living an actively engaged evolutionary life.

If this piques your interest then you can always come and join me and we can meditate together, since quite a group of us will be doing the marathon at the London centre (or even better still, sponsor me and come and meditate for any period of that time!)

Thank you so much for any donations you are able to give!
