Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
If you know me I am part of the Site team at chepstow School.
We are all back from the Challenge in one Piece, we all completed all 3 peaks, because of road conditions we arrived too late at Snowdon for most of us to realistically complete it in 24 hours but Lucinda, Jon Stone, Sian and Jon Williams ran up and back and came in under the time!, on average most of us finished an hour over.
The weather was near perfect all through, the highlight of Ben Nevis was traversing 200 yards across a snowfield in the middle of June!
We travelled through the Night to Cumbria, I had only about 1/2 hour sleep and we started our ascent of Scafell Pike at 4am and watched the sunrise on the solstice on the top, truly spectacular, we completed this leg in an amazing 3 -1/2 hours!
After a long Journey through the North of England to Wales and Snowdonia we arrived at Pen y Pas in blazing warm sunshine.
I personally found this one very difficult but with a bit of encouragement from my wife on the Phone I made it to the top and back.
The elation was great at the end and we opened a couple of bottles of bubbly and posed for some photos in our bright green Velindre T shirts.
We arrived back at Chepstow tired but happy at 11.15 pm Sunday, I, the old codger of the team made sure I took 2 days Holiday but everyone else was in on Monday morning, respect goes out to you guys.
I won't be doing this challenge again but I'll cherish the memories for the rest of my life.
A 'Big Up' to our support team: Tim, Dave, Kate and Sally for keeping us well fed and driving us all those miles.
Thanks for you interest, Chris
I have set up this page to raise money for the Velindre Cancer Trust, if you are interested in sponsoring me for this event, look for the 'donate' button and I will be eternally grateful, think of me on June 21st, thanks, Chris
