This year, on 10th May, I will be running 13.1 miles for Womankind Worldwide.
The charity's promise to women in developing countries, is to work together with women's organisations around the world to reduce violence against women, support women to play an active role in society and support them to fight for their rights.
Womankind is a worldwide organisation that works with around 34 partners in 13 countries, including Bolivia, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Ghana and Afghanistan.
Since hearing of the new law in Afghanistan which legalises marital rape and declares that a woman cannot leave her home without her husband's permission, I believe organisations like this are essential.
