Flora London Marathon 2009 · 26 April 2009 ·

The National Blind Children's Society recently changed its name to Blind Children UK and is now part of the Guide Dogs family. At Blind Children UK our mission is to enable children and young people, who are blind and partially sighted to achieve their educational and recreational goals.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: National Blind Childrens Society gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Training Update

As many of you already know, the last few months have been blighted with injury for me, which culminated in a MRA scan recently to check for any stress fracture to my left tibiae.  Whilst this appeared to be negative, I do have bruising to the bone which is greatly restricting the amount of training I can do.

However, I did manage to complete a 20 mile training run on Sunday the 12th of April in not too much pain (although stopping a few times along the way) so am still confident that I'll be able to run, albeit in a much slower time than I had originally envisaged.

The last few months really have been a rollercoaster of emotions, "will I be able to run?, won't I"? and I now understand what people mean when they say that the hardest thing about running a marathon is getting yourself to the starting line.  It is so true!

Chris.
