Story
Opportunities do not often come our way but I believe that you have to take them when they do, so when Mick Limming contacted me to say that he was taking part in a bike ride through Vietnam and would I like to join him, I knew I had to do it. Mick and I last rode together 26 years ago whilst serving on HM submarine Trenchant, when we cycled from Barrow-in Furness to LLanelli raising money for Cot death research. We are both 50 this year so it seemed like the right time to get back together and do something amazing.
I have chosen Breast Cancer Care as my chosen charity for this event. Everyone knows someone close to them who has been affected by this. In my case both my Mum and sister, my best mates wife and numerous other family friends have been through the mill of Breast Cancer. Some more fortunate than others.
Anyone who knows me knows that I have always been a cyclist so the cycling part of this challenge shouldn't be a problem for me. My challenge is to raise as much money for Breast Cancer Care as possible. £3500-00 is the minimum I require to take part but hopefully I can make much more than that.
