In August, Harry and I are cycling approximately 200 miles from London to Paris over 3 long days for the Royal National Institute for Blind People.
Day 1 sees us cycle 69 miles from Tower Bridge towards Godstone to reach Newhaven where a ferry will await to take us at 5.30pm to Dieppe.
Day 2 we cycle from Dieppe to Gournay a slightly less arduous cycle of 54 miles where we will go through some picturesque French country scenes.
Day 3 is the biggest slog of all cycling 79 miles including some challenging climbs. We will finish cycling down the Avenues Des Champs Elysees, around the Arc De Triomph and finish through the Trocadero Gardens with the Eiffel Tower in sight and will finish off at this landmark with some well deserved champagne!
The RNIB do some incredible things for those with sight problems and everyday another 100 people will start to lose their sight.
For those who know me well will know that I unfortunately lost part of my vision in my right eye through a detached retina and before then I had never given it much thought how devastating it would be to fully lose my sight.
Thankfully there is the RNIB who helps empower people who are blind or partially sighted by removing the barriers they face and help to prevent blindness.
Please, if you could each dig down deep for a kind donation of any size it would be MOST appreciated.
We have a target of £1,200 to raise each, which is a considerable amount, but with each sponsor, no matter how small it is, we believe we can reach our target! It’s such a worthwhile cause as there are 200 million people in the UK with sight problems.
Thank you for your support,
Tina and Harry
