Story
I did it!! Never again though!! Great experience but that moment of tipping out of the plane at 12,000ft, free falling for a whole minute at 134mph is indescribable. The day was great, with lots of support from family, friends and colleagues. Nine people jumped for Herriot and everyone would do it again, amazing experience. We are planning the same event for next year, so watch the Herriot website and if you feel the need to experience a well organised Sky Dive please get in touch. ..............Thank you for all your support.
OMG IT'S THIS SUNDAY, I'M GETTING A LITTLE BIT NERVOUS!! ....My 10,000ft Tandem Skydive is going to take me well out of my 'comfort zone' and well into my 'scared zone'...I like my feet firmly on the ground, so I'll be asking myself why am I doing this...when I'm up in the clouds on the 7th July!
Apparently when we've flown upto10,000ft, I lean forward out of the doorway and let go....or in my case my 21 year old daughter Hana will be behind me so she can push me out of the plane..that's the only reason she's doing it as well!
My lovely instructor and I will then be "falling forwards into the clouds, diving down through the air as we start freefalling at over 120mph!!.....then the promotional bumf says "imagine the peace and quiet as the canopy opens and you begin a tranquil parachute descent".....I don't think so, not with me screaming my head off!!!
As you can tell, I'm not really looking forward to this new and mad challenge of mine..walking the Coast to Coast was far better, at least we could stop at a pub or tea shop when we'd had enough.
So your support and encouragement is much needed to see me through this bonkers way of raising loads of money for your brilliant, local Herriot Hospice Homecare Charity.
So please dig deep and donate now. Thank you.
