Story
I made it! Got round the 26.2 miles in a (net) time of 5h 10m. If you paste http://www.brightroom.com/view_user_event.asp?EVENTID=7803&PWD=&BIB=31892 into your browser you will see a hideous picture of me with my medal plus some good action shots! It's not too late to sponsor me...............
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online. For those of you who have already sponsored me, on or off line, thank you so much!
I ran the New York City Marathon in memory of my parents, Bill and Jean Ellis, who both died last year. Bill endured the steady debilitation of Parkinson's for the final twenty years of his very active life; Jean cared for him and lent support to other people with PD and their carers. By sponsoring your valuable funds will enable the PDS to fund research, collect and disseminate information and, most importantly, provide vital advice and support to people like Bill and Jean and their families.
In April, my brother, sister and I scattered our parents' ashes on the banks of a loch in the Angus glens. It was a place of great significance to us all.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Parkinson's Disease Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. So please sponsor me now! Many thanks for your support.
