Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

Thank you all so very much for sponsoring me - I have exceeded my target again!  I am happy to tell you that I am still alive and finished the course in 4hr 57minutes.  There were lots of hills!  If you click on  http://www3.marathon-photos.com/scripts/event_entry.py?job=Sports%2FCPUK%2F2008+Sports%2FLoch+Ness+Marathon&match=1351 here is the proof that I ran at least some of the way!

My dad died 4 years ago after having PD for over 20 years.  He was a very fit and active man and often spent his weekends cycling 100s of miles in the Highlands; I expect he took the same route as this marathon a few times!  He was about my age now when first diagnosed with PD - it is a very debilitating disease and the memory of what he became makes me determined to do this fund-raising marathon (although I did say never again after the last two!).

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Parkinson's Disease Society gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now - !
