Yes I am having a change from the Great North run and am going to try to do this as well this year. I have swum the distance in the pool and am taking classes to learn to swim better and hopefully faster

My colleagues say there are man eating pike, jelly fish, tornado's and other horrors (which I cannot relate here) at Lake Windermere and I am going to brave them all (with the aid of a wet suit)
