Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
I will be running the Great North Run half marathon (13.1 miles) on 5th October to raise funds for the Association of Young People with ME (AYME). As explained to the left, this charity provides support, friendship, advice and information to children and young people with ME. My brother and Yaz's brother have both been suffering from this debilitating illness for a number of years, so it would really mean a lot to me if you can make a donation, of any size.
At present the cause is not known and there is no cure for ME; people just have to wait and get better, trying what they can, and nobody knows how long it will take them to recover - but it is mostly a number of years. There are different levels of the illness, but for some people it can be as bad as being unable to eat, move or even talk. AYME (Association of Young People with ME) is a charity which provides support and advice to ME sufferers. They act as a life line to many people - as you can imagine how lonely it can be, being unable to move out of the house, and often with no or very few visitors.
Please have a look at their website, it explains about the illness much better than I can! www.ayme.org.uk
Please help me to raise funds for this fantastic charity - I really appreciate your support. Chris
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Association of Young People with ME gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
