CeltMan · 23 June 2012

The UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health. For over a century, we've helped former servicemen and women deal with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Today, we provide support to veterans from every service and every conflict.

Story

So what is it?

On the 23rd June I'll be swimming 3.8km in a deep, Scottish sea loch (cold), after which I'll cycle 200km around Wester Ross (windy) and then run/stagger 42km (a marathon) up some mountains (savagely steep), hopefully finishing before it gets dark

Why?

To raise money for Combat Stress, a charity that helps ex-servicemen who have psychological and mental health problems.  Doesn't sound very impressive, but it does a hugely important job and has helped some close friends of mine.

These people often have no physical scars yet still suffer on a daily basis and getting help can be difficult.  This is where Combat Stress steps in through rehabilitation and outreach programmes.
