Story

Elliot, my son was stillborn last July. He was a beautiful, perfect baby in every way. Nothing comes close to being able to describe the pain of losing your baby who was so much loved and not knowing why he died.

Stillbirth is 10 times more common than cot death and more babies are born still than the number of people that die on UK roads each year, yet research and awareness is virtually nil.

PLEASE HELP CHANGE THIS !!!!

17 babies die every day. I am now involved with SANDS charity to help implement practical changes at local and national level that raise awareness and promote research into the tragedy of stillbirth.

To raise money I'm doing the Trans-Cambrian Cyclo Sportive on Sept 7th. The race is in the Cambrian Mountains that form the spine of central Wales. With peaks of around 500m-600m, and hidden valleys holding reservoirs of clear water, it is a region of outstanding natural beauty and hideous pain while climbing, climbing and climbing - I did this ride in 2006 and finished 22nd in 5hrs 22 - thats 2 marathon's in toil ! It is 87 miles long, the highest point is 509m, and the lowest point is just 6m above sea level. Many riders were still coming in after 9 or 10 hours !!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: SANDS gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
