Story
I DID IT!!!!!
I must be mad but I’m doing it all again!! I trekked through the scorching heat of the Namib Desert (see short video: Namibia Trek Video) and now it’s the turn of Mount Kenya the second highest mountain in Africa after Kilimanjaro with its sub zero temperatures and rarefied atmosphere. Lying almost on the equator, it is permanently capped by snow and ice above 4,600 m (15,000 ft), and several glaciers descend from the massif along radial valleys.
I am again raising funds for Homeless International and the excellent work they do with Slum Dwellers around the world which really makes a difference to their lives. I saw for myself this work first hand on my visit to the urban slum dweller projects in Windhoek and Swakopmund when in which left me feeling I wanted to do more. I have uploaded some photos of my experience which you can view here: Namibia Photos
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Homeless International will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
NOTICE TO CORPORATE SPONSORS
I can have photos taken at the peak wearing your corporate logo on clothing* such as a T-shirt, cap etc which can then be used in your own publicity material to promote your organisation.
*Clothing will need to be supplied by the sponsor with any special instructions. If you have any other ideas, please check with me first @chrisw@swayhs.org.uk. Please remember I need to carry any items up Mount Kenya so please no articles which are heavy or take up lots of space.
Please dig deep and sponsor me online as every little helps!!
Please keep looking back as I will endeavor to update this page regularly.
