On Saturday 18th October 2008 I will be taking part in the London Bridges walk in aid of Journey of a Lifetime Trust (JoLt).  This is a six-mile walk (or a wheel in my case!) over various London Bridges,  This walk is part of a weekend of events to celebrate JoLt's Silver Jubilee.  JoLt is a charity very close to my heart and since I completed my own journey through Chile in summer 2000 I've never looked back.

A little bit about the charity:  JoLt is a small charity set up in 1983 to make a positive and lasting difference to the lives of disadvantaged and disabled young people.  Every two years, a group of young people take a month-long expedition to somewhere in the world.  These are by no means comfortable trips, but tiring journeys in harsh environments that often present many physical and personal challenges.  The experiences and sense of achievement that comes from completing such a journey helps build confidence, self-belief and independence for the future.  It was a truly life changing experience which has left me with lasting memories of some of the amazing places the world has to offer.
