My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my 'JustGiving' page everybody. I've finally conquered LONDON!!! I dedicate this Marathon to my late Grandad... thank you for giving me the strength and courage to run the Marathon for REEMAP.

The Virgin London Marathon 2012 has been accomplished in a time of 5hours 45mins and 11secs. This has no doubt been the toughest event I have ever prepared for in my entire life. The gruelling 26.2 mile run was definitely gruelling which ever way round you look at it!

I remember 4 months ago I could barely run 3 miles comfortably nevermind 26.2 miles!! During the strenuous training program I have lost weight, kept an impressive diet and made personal sacrifices along the way to finally achieve a lifetime dream of one day completing the London Marathon. Well people... I DID IT!!!

During the race, my body endured torrid pain not surprisingly my legs. It all started to go wrong after surpassing mile 9, my left knee gave way so I used my right leg to support my whole body weight. As all my weight was on that right leg, it suddenly seized up after mile 13! After that it was pure adrenaline, determination and sheer belief that I made it across the finishing line. I almost blacked out; I had nothing else to give...

I like to take this opportunity to thank all my friends and family who has helped me raise a heck of alot of money for REEMAP! Your support and words of wisdom has been overwhelming and to know that you were all there for me; truly means alot so THANK YOU! It has made me a very proud athlete... if I do say so myself!!

REEMAP is a voluntary organisation based in Leeds, West Yorkshire. I have been volunteering with them for about 5 years now. I am passionate in the way they help and support young people within the local community.

The professional standards of the charity are always set high. Not only have they given the support, guidance and the expertise for the young people and their parents but they have aided my knowledge and broadened my skill levels in helping young people. I have learnt so much from everybody associated with the charity and I am pleased to say it has made me who I am today. With the support of my parents/family/friends and REEMAP I have finally accomplished this dream of completing the London Marathon this year. 'Thank you for the opportunity REEMAP!'.

Their is still time to donate. Your generous donation will help REEMAP continue to flourish in their local communities. Offer extra support for young people who have so much potential and ambition; they are the future leaders of tomorrow and I have every faith in them all. We need this great charity to continue; we cannot allow the lack of funding from the UK government hinder the successes this charity has acheived in such a short space of time. I need everyone to get behind us and contribute. A little goes a long way.

'Lets Do This Together...'

Donating through 'JustGiving' is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with 'JustGiving'. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now everybody. Your donations will be very much appreciated from myself and REEMAP.

In the meantime, please check out the video that Dave Bedford the Race Director of the Virgin London Marathon has sent me on the 24th of February 2012 http://www.marathonnewstv.com/?f=Chung+&l=Liu&ch=Reemap&n=1 Enjoy!

Liurve you all!

Peace and Equality.
