Hello all,

Thanks for visiting my sponsorship page. As you may or may not know, in September 2012 I'm joining the Captains California Bike Ride, organised by Velindre Cancer Centre, to cycle 390km from Yosemite National Park to San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge in just over a week. Three former Wales rugby captains are leading the charge, and other participants include stars of the big and small screen.

I, however, promise to have the best hairdryer (and I'll try to lose the pained expression, too).

I've taken on this challenge to raise £5,000 to support the amazing work done by Velindre Cancer Centre - one of the biggest specialist cancer treatment centres in the UK, they provide services to more than 1.5m people and see more than 5,000 new referrals every year. They also undertake groundbreaking research in to a range of cancers, including lung, breast and bowel cancer. Their valuable work - which makes a huge difference to the lives of cancer patients and their families - needs your support to continue, so please give generously.
