Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 22nd March we are taking on the Great Glen Paddle (http://www.greatglenpaddle.co.uk/) to raise money for The Halo Trust. The challenge involves a non stop paddle from Fort William to Inverness a distance of nearly 100km on canals, rivers and Lochs. We are aiming to complete this challenge in under sixteen hours, setting off from Fort William at 2am and finishing in Inverness by sundown.
The Halo Trust is the world's oldest and largest humanitarian landmine clearance organisation. Please have a look at the attached link for more information.
The reason we have chosen to raise money for this charity is that while we have been lucky enough to have benifited from a huge amount of support after the injuries I recieved after stepping on an IED in Afghanistan, there are thousands of people across the world who recieve similar injuries as a result of landmines but who do not have the same network of support. The Halo Trust continues their dangerous work throughout the world in order to minimise the number of injuries inflicted by legacy mines. They have a long and highly succesful past but need our support if they are to continue their life saving work so please give generously.
