We are so lucky to travel the world and last year we were fortunate enough to meet the brilliant people whose mission it is to care for the children at the Asharan Orphanage in Delhi. We spent a day with Jolly and Wendy, the Angels who run place as well as some other volunteers, but the highlight was meeting some of the most beautiful, engaging playful and happy children in the world.
Despite the fact that these little ones have very little materially, they are full of hope and love. They welcomed us into their home with open arms. It was one of the most rewarding days of my life and had the “Can’t Buy It “ benefit of altering our children’s world perspective for life. They had the chance to see how blessed we are but also to see that it is not just material excess that creates happiness.
It does take money however, to keep a roof over their heads and food in their bellies and cover basic needs.
We can all make a difference. So many of you rushed to help us last year when we planned our trip; dropping by with clothes, nappies, books and toys. Many more asked if there was more you could do.
