Very sadly, in 2012, Claire was diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour at the age of just 37 and told she had mere months left to live. In addition to the multiple surgeries, radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatments, Claire was given the opportunity to be part of a breakthrough immunotherapy trial at UCLH, funded by Cancer Research, which we believe made a significant difference to how much time we were able to spend with her. She fought with tremendous grace and bravery for five and a half years, confounding the expectations of every doctor along the way.
