Grants are awarded annually from the fund to talented young athletes between 15 and 23, who are still in education, in the hope it will keep them in sport and enable them to realise their potential. Grants are also given to coaches and coaching projects, and for sportshall athletic equipment.

My personal message:

Well it seems that the forthcoming milestone of hitting 40 is already showing itself in the form of madness, as I decided I should have something to show for reaching middle age.  I could have celebrated with a luxury spa weekend, but no - I've signed up to run 26 miles. 

I'm therefore hoping that my friends and family will support my lunacy and dig deep to sponsor me. Plus most of the people I know who are running the marathon this year are men, so this one is for the girls too!
