Hi Everyone, thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

As you may (or may not) know I have been involved with the Burnham on Crouch RNLI for a couple of years and am now the Volunteer Assistant Lifeboat Press Officer or VALPO!!

We are due to receive a new Atlantic 85 Lifeboat in the next year or two and being one of only a few stations across the country to have floating boathouses the new bigger boat will need a new bigger shed to live in!

We need to raise as much money as possible for the new boathouse and this is where I come in. I am going to take part in the Moonlit Southend Colourthon - a 13 mile evening walk around Southend starting at 8pm on the 4th July 2009.

I would be really grateful if you could sponsor me to help raise money for our station.

In the past year alone, the Lifeboat Crew have been involved in five major search and rescue operations including the RAF Seaking helicopter, Coastguard, Police and crews from flank stations. This is in addition to the other calls to stranded sailors who may have suffered mechanical failures or got lost and disorientated in poor weather conditions. We really do need your help to keep providing this essential service to the town and surrounding area.
