I have been working at the University of Greenwich for 15 years and will be running the Asics British 10k London Run for the university's Alumni Fund. As part of my job, I meet with students who are in extreme financial emergencies and need just a small amount of money to help them through their . Usually this is less than £50 and can make the difference between students completing their course and being forced to give up. Some students would be completely stranded without this help and the Alumni Fund provides invaluable support to students in these situations. It also contributes to resources for the library and supports those with a disability or dyslexia.

I am really looking forward to taking part in this event. The most important thing to me is that I finish the race, rather than achieving a certain time.
