The race is done - but of course it is still not too late to sponsor me. See below for details of the two important charities.

I did finish, not in my goal time of 4h15m but in 4h43m - even though I was on pace at the half way mark. Now I know just have terrifying the idea of a further 12 miles can be when you can hardly walk a step. My legs, along with thousands of others (other runners I am not a millipede) suffered severe muscle cramps as we found ourselves trying to propel our feet forward. Regular massages were provided by St. John's ambulances, which meant we could keep running, albeit a lot slower!

Thank you so much for all you sponsorship, knowing that I had to finish, helped keep me going.

------

You really can make a difference - a gift of £10 to my 2 small chosen charities goes a long way.  Or perhaps £1 for every mile I run, so you don't have to? £26.20 is a lovely donation!

I ran this once before, 4 years ago - but then I was naive and did not know how much it would hurt. This time - I'm sure its even madder. I want to run it faster! My aim is to finish within 4h15m which is going to take everything I can give it (and probably a bit more!).

I'm raising money for two really important charities, so please be generous.

Pegasus Theatre is a fabulous organisation in Oxford offering creative opportunities for young people. I should know - I work there! You may think I'm biased but I could give introduce you to many young people for whom Pegasus' work is really important. Our 'Create for Change' campaign has just been launched in order for us to be able to provide many more young people with great opportunities.

Christopher's Smile is a small charity (hence Pegasus is collecting on its behalf and will then make a 50% donation from these funds). Christopher’s Smile was set up in October 2008 by Karen and Kevin Capel following the tragic death of their only son Christopher from medulloblastoma, an aggressive childhood brain tumour.  In partnership with the Institute of Cancer Research Christopher ’s Smile aims to raise money to fund development of new drugs to treat medulloblastoma and other childhood cancers without devastating side effects. These drugs will provide an effective cure for all and save the lives of the 25% of children who currently do not survive their disease.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me. If you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus the Government's 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now...
