Well, Sunday 22 April was the BIG ONE and I am pleased to report that we did it! It was the hottest London Marathon on record - with air temperature a scorching 23.5 celcius - but we moderated our pace goals and took on plenty of fluids from the start. I finished in 5 hours 17 minutes and 39 seconds, placing 26,991st out of 35,674 finishers.
It was an amazing day - I shall never forget it. And as you can see, I have already surpassed my original fundraising target but the page will continue to be active for another few weeks so please do make a donation to this very worthy cause.
Most of all, I want to say a huge thank you to all of my family, friends and colleagues for your generous support - I could not have done it without you.
I have updated my photo to show me and my brother, Dan, shortly after finishing the marathon and proudly sporting our finisher's medals.
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please sponsor me online - all donations are gratefully received and will go towards the work of the Stroke Association.
I chose to run the marathon to raise money for the Stroke Association in memory of my Gran, who died following a stroke.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Stroke Association will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support.
