Well we did and we're all very proud of ourselves. Richard was first home (that's first out of the 3 of us, not first overall!) in 13:53:20 followed very closely by Bev in 14:04:51 then by me in 14:55:23. Performance of the day went to Bev who had a brilliant day and did the marathon in a fantastic time of 5:34:48. Well done guys, very proud of you.
I would like to say a big thank you everyone who has donated on line.
Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
On the 5 July 2009 myself, Richard and Bev will be taking part in the biggest challenge of our lives thus far, the German Ironman in aid of the Velindre Cancer Centre (Registered charity number: 1052501).To complete this epic event we have to swim 2.4 miles, cycle 112 miles and run 26.2 miles, all in 16 hours. We are currently training hard completing 11 hours a week, which will peak at 15 hours, as we get closer to July 2009.
I can claim first hand experience of the Velindre Centre as I was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2007; I certainly felt the kindness and positive attitude shown by the hard working teams that contributed towards my recovery. I would therefore like to raise as much money as possible by taking part in this gruelling Ironman event with my friends, so may I ask you to please help by making a donation, however large or small, to this worthy cause.
Many thanks,
Claire, Richard and Bev
