I will be trekking Machu Picchu in Peru on behalf of the charity CRY - Cardiac Risk in the Young.

CRY is a particularly important charity to me as it supports medical research into Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (SADS) which my sister, Debbie Suau-Marcus, died from when she was just 24 leaving behind her 3 and half year old little boy.

Her death, like most SADS deaths, was sudden and no heart condition was detected before hand.  Most SADS sufferers are teenagers or young adults who appear fit and healthy. 

CRY also provides SADS screening (it can be hereditary or certain groups of people have a greater risk) and also supports affected families.
