Hello and a very big THANK YOU for taking the time to visit my fundraising page. On 25 May I ran my first ever marathon in Edinburgh (but it won't be my last!). My official time was 4:51:41 which I was very pleased with given the conditions on the day. I ran the marathon to raise funds for the Cardiff branch of Headway, the brain injury charity. Headway Cardiff is based at Rookwood Hospital, Llandaff, Cardiff. Why Headway? Well, some of you will know that my dad suffered a traumatic brain injury nearly two and a half years ago as a result of being hit by a car. He spent much time at Rookwood where, as well as excellent care from the NHS staff, he and my mum received valuable help, advice and support from the Headway team - my mum really would have been lost without them. A brain injury affects, and can devastate, entire families, and this wonderful charity does fantastic work both with those who have suffered the injury and with their loved ones. I would be immensely grateful for your support, no matter how small, in helping this fund this worthwhile charity to continue its work. Please sponsor me!! It's not too late, even though the race has passed - this page takes donations until 25 August 2008. Donating through this site is simple, fast and TOTALLY secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Headway Cardiff will receive your money faster (it doesn't need to go into my grubby paws first) and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you (so Headway gets more funds!).
So please, please sponsor me now!
Many thanks in advance for your generosity and your support.
Best wishes Claire xxx
