I did it!
I ran it all, steady and slow and finished with a massive grin on my face in 6 hours and 13 minutes. I am so chuffed. Despite having to stop the training for 4 weeks just 7 weeks before the marathon and not doing any long distances since March I managed it without any serious problems.
This just demonstrates the power of grit, determination and fundraising for a worthy cause. I have reached my target of £1000 and will be delighted to receive more donations from anyone else who wishes to make a real difference to those who come to the Hospice.
Thank you to everyone for your encouragement and generousity, it really helped me focus when the going got tough.
