I am taking 3 days to cycle 550km from London to Paris to raise money for The Martlets Hospice. My Mum, Brenda, had an uncommon and very aggressive cancer that is normally associated with asbestos exposure, the source of which was never identified. The Martlets helped to care for her at home and the Martlets Hospice was where she chose to be at the end in January 2011. They made a huge difference to Mum and the family and I want to support them so that others may benefit from their services.

 

It takes £3 million to keep The Martlets going to fund:

An 18 bed inpatient ward

Hospice at home service

Breathing clinic

Patient and family support

Bereavement support

There was until recently a day hospice but this has already been closed due to lack of funds. As such they need all the help that we can give to keep this amazing facility open.
