My God Daughter, Maisie, was born on on 17th Jun 2010 with a fractured skull and several bleeds on her brain. This caused her to immediately 'collapse' requiring 18 minutes of resusitation and use of a ground-breaking intervention where Maisie's core temperature was cooled in the hope of lessening any potential damage caused by her brain being starved of oxygen.

This was followed by two weeks of intensive care at South Meads (Bristol) Hospital who are helping pioneer this medical procedure.

Thanks to the skill of the medical teams and Maisie's fighting spirit, Maisie has made an excellent, perhaps even miraculous recovery. She shows every sign of not having suffered any long term effects. She and her twin sister, Amelie, are full of life and mischief as all toddlers should be.

I want to raise money is to say thank you to the medical staff that saved her, and to provide them with more equipment so they can help other children. . I also want to pay tribute to Kate and Pete , Maisie and Ameilie's amazing Mum and Dad , who despite this very bumpy start into the world of parenthood remained calm , hopeful and inspirational in some very trying moments .
