Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. This weekend (end of May bank holiday), in the company of some equally foolhardy walking friends, I completed the Three Peaks Challenge - climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Mount Snowdon within 24 hours. I managed to finish in 23 hours 7 minutes - my individual times for each mountain were 5 hours for Ben Nevis, 3 hours 10 mins for Scafell Pike, and 3 hours 7 mins for Snowdon. Although I'd trained hard over the past few months, there were times when it was very tough, and my legs are now extremely painful whenever I move! The sleep deprivation and general fatigue was a stern test of my resolve, and by the time we reached Snowdon my muscles were tired and aching. However, the exhilaration I felt at each summit, and the incredible views - particularly from Ben Nevis - more than compensated for the struggle, and to stand at the highest point of each country was an amazing experience. I'm very grateful to everyone who has sponsored me so far - your support was a great incentive to carry on. If you haven't yet sponsored me, it's not too late - this page will remain active until 26th July, and I'd really appreciate your sponsorship to help me support WaterAid.
Over the course of the challenge I consumed several litres of clean, safe drinking water - the availability of which it is all too easy to take for granted. Sadly, there are millions of people across the world who still do not have access to clean water and sanitation, and who suffer horrible diseases and death as a result. Clean water seems such a simple thing, a basic human right - so I'd really like to do something to help more people become healthier and happier, by supporting WaterAid.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: WaterAid will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
