Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I will be running the Marathon des Sables, billed as "the hardest footrace on earth" on 1st April 2010. It consists of 6 marathons (about 156 miles) over 7 days in the Sahara desert carrying all your kit. Temperatures are around 50 to 60C in the day, and freezing cold at night! As well as carrying all my food, cooking equipment, sleeping bag and mat, we are advised to take some niceties, such as a venom pump for snake and scorpion encounters! Having run just a few marathons, I am obviously extremely nervous about the whole thing, but also a little bit excited! I am not likely to do anything quite as difficult as this again, I think this will be my once in a lifetime biggie!
Hope and Homes for Children is very dear to my heart, having been a volunteer for 10 years and now a Patron of the charity. The children we support have nothing in life, less than nothing, because they don't even have a life worth living. Please help me to help them.
