It will be Clare’s birthday on 13th September, we want to do something in Clare’s memory. A dear friend of ours who suffers depression took a photograph of the sculptures where Clare had her picture taken with her 2 little girls, Molly & Grace, when she was being interviewed for the article in Local Women. When you look at the sculptures they look like 3 C’s. So we thought Clare loved going for walks on the Causeway Coast. We’ve come up with Clare’s Causeway Challenge 2011 which will be held 17th 18th September for Aware Defeat Depression. We’re in the early stages of organizing this event, but I hope you will support it. Depression shouldn’t be taboo in this day and age, so we want to reach out to as many people as possible touched by Clare and Depression.

Clare left behind a letter, which I’m sure you can imagine was so heartbreaking.

She said she was tired pretending. She wanted to be the Clare she used to be, the bubbly, smiley, creative girl she was, who was a loving wife and the most brilliant mummy in the world. But she didn’t think this. The illness had gotten the best of her in the end...

This little poem is for a lot of us out there who's loved ones lives have been ripped apart because of this silent illness. This illness takes over your thinking..turning your thoughts into negative ones and making you think you are worthless..let me tell you, my sister Clare thought this of herself and it is so not true!! Read this...
