Hello.. Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising site.. My name is Clare-Carroll and I am fundraising on behalf of Project Trust as I have been selected to do a gap year in South Africa. Throughout the year I will be doing voluntary work with children, either in an orphanage or a primary school. By spending a full year in Africa I hope to fully intergrate into the local culture; I will be paid a local wage and will be expected to share the living conditions of those around me whilst involving myself in the lifestyle of the community in as many aspects as possible. Spending a full year there will also help me to contribute and make as much difference to the people as I can; Please note that Project Trust is careful only to send volunteers to do jobs which local people cannot do, so they do not take work away from them. I am currently completing my A-levels at sixth form and I am therefore due to leave for Africa in August 2008; by this time, however, I have to have raised a minimum of £4480.00. Although this is a considerable amount I am confident that I will raise it through a combination of donations and a wide range of events. 30th April: Today I recieved more details about where I will be working. Project Trust have decided to send me to a children's home for mixed race orphans in Cape Town, South Africa. It looks like a challenging experience with many new opportunities and I am looking forward to it immensely. Your help is so important to me and any donation, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Project Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Thank you in anticipation.
Please continue to visit this site as I will keep it updated with events and progress. Thanks to all those who took part in the sponsored swim, the money raised is still being collected.
