UPDATE: I did it and in only 1 hour 47 minutes and 1 second! I have very tired, wobbly legs so am going to relax in hot bubbles tonight but I am really pleased to have completed it in only 5 minutes more than the previous half marathon I did in October 2005. Thank you all for your support.
Sadly, the following week my Gran, Alice Bonner, died at the grand age of 92. We take comfort from knowing that Gran is now looking after Gemma and she would be thrilled to know that the flowers at her funeral were donated in lieu to The Forget-Me-Not Suite. This raised £135.
Please watch this space for the next challenge around July - now that I have got back into the running I'm on the lookout for the next one and will be aiming for 1 hour 42 minutes so please keep me going and help me reach my target. Thank you. Clare
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I am raising funds in memory of our precious daughter Gemma stillborn on 3rd October 2008 at Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford.
The challenge I have set myself is to run in the Oxon White Horse Half Marathon on Sunday, 5th April 2009. I am hoping to do it in 2 hours!!!
All monies raised will be donated to Surrey Sands who have supported us since our loss. They will use it for their Forget-me-Not Project to create a new bereavement suite at Royal Surrey County Hospital. The current facilities are tired and cramped and not the best environment for bereaved parents to be in with their baby. The new suite, away from the main delivery ward, will be self contained with a delivery room, bathroom and nursing room. The cost of the project is £40k and I am passionate about helping them to achieve their goal.
Thank you for your donation, you are helping to make a difference to the bereaved parents of the future. If you would like to see the combined fundraising total towards the £40k target please visit www.justgiving.com/surreysands-royal-surrey .
Thank you for your support.

Note 1 - Royal Surrey is also raising money towards this project. Any monies raised through this Justgiving page in excess of the amount required for the project will be donated to Surrey Sands to support other parents and hospitals within Surrey.
Note 2 - Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to donate: Sands gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. All monies donated will go to Surrey Sands in aid of the ‘Forget-Me-Not Suite’. The Gift Aid element will be retained by National Sands to support their work which includes research into the causes of stillbirth.
