Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
I am doing a sponsored walk along with a group of friends on Saturday 14th June in aid of AMURT'S disaster relief work in Burma.
UPDATE ON SPONSORED WALK: I completed the sponsored walk on Saturday, 10 miles altogether. Eight of us did the walk including two children. Thanks to all those who have sponsored me so far or made a pledge to do so and I will be collecting cash sponsorship over the next week or so. You can sponsor me in retrospect, it does not matter that it is after the event. All payments will go direct to support AMURT'S work in Burma.
The Minister of Education in Burma has approved the work of AMURT there. This is the first time in history the Ministry of Education has allowed a foreign organization to work on Myanmar territory. Many other aid organisations continue to be unable to get into the country.
The focus of AMURT'S work at this time is Food Distribution. They have also started to create Child Friendly Spaces to help children affected by the massive trauma of the disatser.
The money I raise will be sent directly to our volunteers who will use it to undertake some of the work needed out there. Read more about the relief efforts
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: AMURT gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
