I am going to undertake a 24 Hr fast on Friday 27th November, in aid of save the children. All of you who know me will understand how very difficult this is going to be for me !! I will allow myself water and cups of tea and no more.

Today I read a shocking fact on the save the children website:
In total, almost nine million children die annually around the world, which is more than 24,000 children a day. Ninety-nine percent of these deaths take place in the developing world.

Many of these deaths are from preventable or treatable illnesses like pneumonia, diarrhea, malaria, measles and complications related to childbirth. Nearly four million of these deaths occur in newborns - babies less than one month old. Each year two million children die the day they are born. Obviously as a mother I find facts like these heartbreaking & very hard to swallow....

So my plan is not to swallow (food) for one day, to attempt to help in a small way.

Save the children believe all children should live to celebrate their fifth birthday & I agree

Please try to help in whatever way you can, perhaps you could see this donation as the best kind of Christmas present to those desperately in need of our help
