CAMFED supports millions of vulnerable girls from rural communities across Ghana, Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe to attend school and to create the future they imagine - for themselves, for their communities, and for Africa.

Story

"Education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and to give girls the knowledge, confidence and skills to build a better life"- Camfed

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page in support of the Clare Hall Team for the British 10K Run.

Clare Hall's Community Outreach Committee has chosen to support Camfed (#mce_temp_url#) througout 2011/2012. Camfed fights poverty and AIDS by educationg girls and empowering young women. More than 1,451,600 children in impoverished areas of Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania, Ghana and Malawi have benefited from Camfed's innovative education programs. These intiatives help women in Africa to become 3 times less likely to contract AIDS, most likely to earn 25% more and to raise smaller, healthier families.

Running the British 10K run (#mce_temp_url#) is our biggest project this year. We aim to raise £100/each (ie, £500), which corresponds to three years of a full secondary school scholarship provided by Camfed to a young girl in Africa.

Please help us to make this happen and to support the amazing work done by Camfed.

Who is our team? Timo, Sara, David, Rena and Caitlin

When is the British 10K run? 8th July 2012 (please make your donation before then!)
