Nystagmus means involuntary movements of the eye. It impairs vision, affecting focus and depth perception. At least 1 in 1,000 babies are born with nystagmus. There is currently no cure. The Nystagmus Network is a UK registered charity which provides support, raises awareness and funds research.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I have decided to stretch all boundaries and run the Reading half marathan to raise money to support Nystagmus Network . My Nephew Edward (age 6) and niece Madelyn (age3) were both born with this condition - as a family we do not know why and we have no family history to suggest where and how this has occured.  In simple terms Edward and Maddy see the world as a moving object and have to focus really carefully to see. Edward is fortunate to have a very good right eye - unfortunately Maddy's vision is very restricted. This is a very small charity and is dependent on donations to further their research. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Nystagmus Network will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
