Thank you for taking the time to visit my page
My name is Clare Livingstone from Edinburgh. I am about to embark on my second Round the World Trip and wanted to do something challenging and to help those not as capable as myself.
I was inspired by a friend to do something that really pushed me to my limit please visit his page at justgiving/markcoopermakingheadway
I am attempting 2 high altitude challenges, starting on 6th September. Mt Kilimanjaro the highest mountain in Africa, this is my first challenge. Mt Kilimanjaro is one of the 7 summits at a height of 5,895m. The route I will be taking is the Macheme route over 6 days.
Challenge two takes place in the Nepalese Himalaya a 19 day trek that will take me to the summit of Kala Pattar 5,555m then onto Base Camp of Everest.
Both of these challenges are at high altitude which makes any daily task a challenge.
The Charity
My friend and Uncle have both recently had a limb amputated due to different circumstances something you never imagine happening to yourself or can even comprehend how it would affect you.so I have chosen to donate all money made to NHS Lothian Endowment Fund. (Sutherland ward Astley Ainslie Hospital) This ward it a rehabilitation centre for amputees.
The patients stay at Astley Ainslie for many weeks while they heal and prepare for life with prophetic limbs and wheelchairs. It can be a long struggle and I want to help make that struggle become easier.
Thank you again for visiting my page to keep up to date with my training progress join me on facebook clare's Altitude Challenge
